I consider it a privilege to serve the Town of Dumfries as Mayor. I know we have challenges; these challenges involve taxation of our citizens, taxation of our businesses, growth, modernization of our township, and quality of life for everyone that lives and frequents the town. I will continue to work to find solutions to these issues, and to the concerns I’ve always cared about: infrastructure, strategic development and a safe Town for our families.
I fully understand that I am an ambassador from the Town of Dumfries. My commitment is to make real progress instead of participating in political showdowns and dividing the Council on votes; this has set me apart on a wide range of important issues facing the Town. I know and understand the power of the media. I won’t embarrass the citizen’s or the Town’s interest on television or in the papers. I have and will continue to address issues head on; I will not back down from elected responsibilities. I come to meetings informed and ready to make decisions for the betterment of the Town.
Dumfries has a proud heritage and we need to preserve its culture. I campaigned on a vision and a plan for the future of Dumfries. There should be a Historic District, a Business District and a Port District. This planning should include infrastructure (sidewalks, buildings, utilities and transportation corridors), business design (banking, eateries, vehicle and mercantile), Tourism, Recreation & Entertainment, and fiduciary planning (setting aside monies for the Town’s future).
It is important that I stay personally connected to residents and business owners. It is my desire that you’ll use the resources on this site to stay informed about what I am doing and to keep in touch with me so that I can better serve you.
